A structured literature review on construction conflict prevention and resolution: A modified approach for engineering

Abstract In the face of several uncertainties in construction industry, conflicts and disputes seem inevitable. The aim this systematic literature review methodologies for prevention resolution was to develop an updated guidance conflict management industry. To achieve this, we developed a novel tool termed Modified Reporting Items Structured Reviews Engineering Technology (MORISE) that considered modified from original method Preferred Systematic Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Three databases, ScienceDirect, Scopus, American Society Civil Engineers (ASCE), were searched 61 articles shortlisted. terms frequency reasons cited as causes disputes, payment regimes delays rank first, followed by written agreement interpretation changes projects. Acceptable approaches include negotiation, arbitration, facilitation, dispute boards. This study able make clear distinction between adopted various researchers show addition conflicts, there are comprehensive suitable techniques resolve which can be practice.
